Delaware Collegiate FFA

Don’t lose touch with FFA after you graduate from high school! Delaware has three collegiate FFA chapters in the Association.  In order of chartering, they are located at the following post-secondary institutions: Delaware State University, University of Delaware, and Delaware Technical and Community College.  There are many ways you can benefit if you stay involved:
  • You will still be eligible to win many top-level FFA awards.
  • You will still be able to participate in leadership development programs.
  • You can still apply for FFA-sponsored college scholarships and grants.
  • You will be among the first to know when internship and job opportunities are available with our partners in the agriculture industry.
  • You will have countless opportunities to give back to your community and participate in agricultural advocacy efforts.

Delaware Technical Community College Collegiate FFA

Delaware Tech Collegiate FFA is an organization based on the Owens Campus in Georgetown. This group is very active in the community and on campus. Members fund activities by participating in several fundraisers throughout the year such as sub sales, poinsettia sales, and the agriculture department’s annual spring plant sale. Members give back to the community by participating in the Adopt-A-Highway program and also volunteering at numerous campus activities. In 2011, the Delaware Tech Collegiate FFA received the Outstanding Organization of the Year award for the Owens Campus. Monthly meetings are held where students plan events, network, and ALWAYS have fun!!

Delaware Tech Collegiate FFA officers attend the National FFA Convention each year and participate in workshops with other collegiate chapters from around the country. Collegiate FFA members enjoy partnering with the Delaware FFA Association by sponsoring a hole at the annual golf tournament and helping at the Delaware State Fair and the Delaware FFA State Convention.

Delaware State University

Delaware State University Collegiate FFA was chartered in 1992. This chapter is based on Delaware State University's campus in Dover.

Our officer team and members participate in activities such as attending local high school FFA banquets, our semi-annual Adopt-A-Highway clean-up, our annual Jack-O-Lantern contest, the Arbor Day celebration on our campus and the trade show at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana.  Our chapter has continued the tradition of adopting a family every Thanksgiving holiday.  During the Delaware State Fair in July, our chapter showcases our display board which represents all of our most recent activities and accomplishments.

The members participating in DSU FFA's activities are able to do so through funding obtained from our annual citrus sale, our biannual banquet and silent auction, and our annual plant sale. The plants sold in our plant sale are grown on site in our James W. W. Baker Building Greenhouse.

University of Delaware

The University of Delaware Collegiate FFA was chartered in December of 1975. Over the years, many of Delaware's current agriscience educators have been members of this chapter.

The officer team and members are extremely active not only on campus, but helping the Delaware FFA Association at events, most notably the annual Delaware FFA State Convention.  Each year, the chapter sets up a display at Convention, volunteers their time to helping with Career Development Events, and sponsors the FFA Scrapbook Event. At the University of Delaware, the chapter participates in Ag Day, showcases FFA at the University's Activities Night, and competes in the Ag College Council's Ag Carnival. The chapter is also engaged in community service. They visit residents at the Sunrise Assisted Living Community, participate in trail clean-ups, Relay for Life, canned food drives and many independent projects. Fun is always incorporated in everything they do.  Their activities are supported by their fruit and poinsetta fundraisers.
