Delaware FFA chapter officers convene each September to receive the training necessary to lead their chapter for the upcoming school year. Each officer meets with their respective State Officer to learn what is involved in being the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Reporter and Sentinel. Following this, the officers move into workshops led by the State Officers, covering topics such as communication, goal setting, time management, conflict resolution, creating a program of activities, agricultural issues, diversity, and building relationships. The chapter officers also work with the camp staff and FFA alumni to process the low ropes course and other outdoor activities, such as archery and rock wall, for team building, communication, and finding the strengths of each officer.
