Jackson Wills

Jackson Wills, where his roots started from the Odessa FFA Chapter, has now become the first state officer from this chapter that just started in 2020. His advisors that have supported his journey are Mr. Billings and Ms. Kochis. While only starting his FFA journey his freshman year, he quickly loved the organization. His favorite CDE is the Forestry competition because it was his first competition he won and his favorite LDE is Extemporaneous Speaking because he believed this is what truly sparked his flame for public speaking. Jackson has been playing tennis for 14 years and has really grown his leadership skills because of it. After highschool, Jackson has planned to go to the University of Delaware and be in the Agriculture and Natural Resources Major and then join the Army National Guard one day. But for now, Jackson loves to hangout with his friends, play tennis, and work for his family business in Milford. He is extremely excited to serve the Delaware FFA. Jackson’s favorite quote is, “You will never understand the value of a moment, until it becomes a memory.”

“The most challenging thing I’ve ever had to do in FFA is come out of my shell and boost my confidence when it comes to public speaking. I am the kind of person to succeed and do my best to win at anything I do. But one thing that never came easy for me was public speaking. Trust me when I say that even now I am not perfect, but through the years of practice, getting out of my comfort zone, and a little bit of luck I was able to accomplish my goals, and the most important thing, grow! Anyone has the power to do anything they want. Don’t look at your goals as one big thing, take little steps and grow one day at a time. I am beyond excited to work with Delaware FFA and maybe watch as we all grow together.”

My Favorite Things: Fish, shop, and play tennis and pickleball

Quote: “One of the most challenging things for me in FFA was putting my voice out there. Though I can be loud at times, I have been overlooked by others even in a leadership position. My senior year, I became my chapter Vice President and decided not only would I not be stepped over, but I wouldn’t let others feel the way I did. Now as a state officer, I continue to do this to have every voice heard.”
